FAVORITE BASEBALL PLAYER GROWING UP: Jeff Bagwell
Wyatt Mathisen is a former professional baseball player with an impressive career spanning several organizations. A 4-time All-American at Calallen High School, he signed with the University of Texas before being selected 69th overall in the 2nd round of the MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Mathisen spent seven years in the Pirates organization, reaching Triple-A, before joining the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he made his MLB debut on August 7, 2020. He played parts of the 2020 and 2021 seasons in the big leagues. His professional career concluded with stints in the Rays, Mariners, and Giants organizations over his final two years.
Following his retirement in 2022, Mathisen transitioned to coaching, focusing on youth travel ball and sharing his expertise with the next generation of players.
