Mike Eggleton, a Kingwood, Texas native, grew up playing both soccer and baseball, attending the same elementary, middle, and high schools as fellow coach Scotty Freeman. He later attended Texas Tech University, where he played club soccer and remained involved in baseball recreationally.
After relocating to Fort Worth in 2003, Mike quickly found his passion in coaching. With over 18 years of experience, he has become a respected leader in the youth sports community. As a dedicated father of three active athletes involved in baseball, softball, and cheer, Mike’s commitment to youth development led him to establish Diamond Express, a premier softball organization modeled similarly to the Wildcatters. Under his leadership, Diamond Express has grown to over 20 competitive teams.
One of Mike’s proudest accomplishments is his 18U National team—where his daughter Brooke plays—where every single player has earned a college scholarship. His proven track record speaks to his deep understanding of player development and what it takes to help athletes reach the next level.
Coach Mike has led teams through numerous national-level tournaments and championships and now brings that same level of excellence and dedication to the DFW Wildcatters. Known for his emphasis on fundamentals and baseball IQ, he believes that it’s not always the most talented team that wins, but the one that plays the smartest. His coaching philosophy centers around respect—for the game, for the players, and for the parents. He strives to instill a love for the game in every athlete and is committed to leaving the sport better than he found it.
