Coach Cory Gafford brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the game to Wildcatters Baseball. A Beaumont, Texas native, he graduated from West Orange-Stark High School in 1991, where he was part of the #1 state-ranked team. His playing career continued at Lamar University (1991-1995), where he excelled as a Division I athlete, earning All-Conference honors, winning two conference championships, and securing two regional berths.

Following his collegiate success, Coach Gafford played professionally from 1995-1998 in the Frontier and Texas-Louisiana Leagues, earning All-Star team honors and capturing a League Championship in 1998. He graduated in 1998 with an all-levels Kinesiology degree, setting the stage for a long and successful coaching career.

His coaching journey began at Lumberton High School (1998-2000) before taking on the role of Associate Head Coach at Houston Westside High School (2000-2007), where he helped develop top-level talent. Most recently, Coach Gafford led his 2027 scout team to a #7 National Ranking by Perfect Game in the fall of 2024.

With his extensive background as both a player and coach, Coach Gafford is dedicated to developing the next generation of athletes and bringing championship-level baseball to Wildcatters Baseball.
