FAVORITE BASEBALL PLAYER GROWING UP: Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez

Steven Ory is the head coach of the LA Wildcatters, proudly leading the program out of his hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana. A devoted husband and father of three, Steven has built his life around faith, family, and a love for sports that began early in his own playing days.

From an early age, Steven learned the value of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance while competing in the 2001 Little League World Series. A graduate of Barbe High School, Steven was a standout athlete in both football and baseball before going on to play college football at McNeese State University. His leadership and passion for competition carried beyond the field and into his career, where he now serves as Operations Manager for Dashiell Corporation.

Steven’s coaching journey began during his college years, assisting with youth programs and teams such as SJ Welsh Middle School. Over the years, he has continued to mentor young athletes in both football and baseball, including four dedicated years coaching the Shockers—now proudly rebranded as the LA Wildcatters.

When he’s not on the field, Steven can usually be found supporting his children at their own sporting events: baseball and soccer for his son, and soccer and cheer for his two daughters.

Coach Ory is deeply passionate about developing his players not just as athletes, but as young men of integrity, discipline, and character. For him, coaching is more than a game—it’s a calling to make a lasting impact.
