FAVORITE BASEBALL PLAYER GROWING UP: Nolan Ryan

Coach Lopez is a dedicated and passionate coach with over a decade of experience in youth sports development. A native of Houston, Texas, Johnny was a standout multi-sport athlete in high school, excelling in baseball, basketball, and football. His talent and leadership on the field earned him numerous accolades, including All-Conference, All-County, and honorable mention honors. 

Following his graduation in 2000, Coach Lopez answered the call to serve and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served from 2001 to 2011. Even during his military career, his passion for baseball remained strong. He continued to compete at a high level, playing in USSSA men’s softball leagues and participating in college baseball. 

As a father of eight and a strong supporter of youth athletics, Johnny is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of athletes. Five of his children are active in select baseball and softball programs, ranging in age from 10 to 15. His firsthand experience as both a parent and a coach gives him a unique perspective on player development, team dynamics, and the importance of character both on and off the field. 

With over 10 years of coaching experience, Coach Lopez brings discipline, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic to every team he leads. He focuses on building fundamental skills, instilling a love for the game, and helping young athletes grow into confident, respectful competitors.
